Alice



Tube used:  “The Heart of Alice” by Zindy S. D. Nielsen. You can find this tube at her store.

Scrap kit used:  “Alice” by Designs by Joan. You can find this kit at Scraps and the City.


Plug Ins used: Xero: Radiance & Porcelain

Font used:  Cheri


In this tutorial, we will be starting with the bottom layer and working our way up. Each new layer you add should be added as the current top-most layer.


Open new image 500 x 500.

Open Paper3. Copy and paste onto canvas.

Apply Mask.

Right click on mask layer.  Merge>Merge Group

Open Alice98. Copy and paste onto your canvas.

Open Alice77. Resize 73%. Copy and paste onto your canvas.

Activate your Pick Tool (the arrow tool). Change Position X to 5.00 and Position Y to 233.00

Duplicate twice.

On the first copy, Mirror, Free Rotate 10 degrees to the right, and move to Position X: 52.00 Position Y: 
230.00.

On Copy (2), move to Position X: -14.00, Position Y: 318.00

Duplicate this layer, Mirror, move to Position X: 65.00, Position Y: 306.00

Name this newest layer “Front Grass” and hide it for now.

Save your progress.

Open Alice99, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange on the left of the tag.

Open Alice32, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at the bottom left of the tag.

Open Alice7, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange on the right of the tag.

Open Alice80, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange on the left of your tag.

Duplicate, Mirror, Flip.

Save your progress.

Open Alice6, resize 70%, copy and paste onto your canvas, and arrange on the right of your tag.

Open your tube. If you’re using the same as me, resize 85%. Copy and paste in the center of your tag.

Apply Xero: Porcelain using default settings (50, 128, 128, 0, 0, 255).

Duplicate

On duplicate (top) tube layer, Apply Xero: Radiance using default settings (128, 50, 128, 255).

Change layer Blend mode to Luminance: Legacy, and lower the opacity to 70. Merge tube layers together.

Save your progress.

Now, unhide your “Front Grass” layer and make it your new top layer.

Open Alice5, Resize 50%, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at bottom left of tag.

Open Alice20, Resize 40%, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at bottom right of tag.

Open Alice74, Resize 50%, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at bottom right of tag.

Open Alice81, Resize 65%, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at bottom right of tag.

Open Alice69, Resize 50%, copy and paste onto your canvas, arrange at top left of tag.

Save your progress.

Apply a drop shadow to your tube. I used 5, 5, 55, 8 and 5, -5, 55, 8.

Apply a drop shadow to each of your element layers, excluding the grass layers. I used 3, 3, 45, 3.

Add your copyright & license info.

Add your name.

I added a border to my name by converting it to a raster layer. Selections>Select All, Float, Defloat. Selections>Modify>Expand by 3. Add a new raster layer under your name, flood fill selection with border color, Selections>None.

New PTU Tut - Lady in Black


Tube used:  “Valentine 2” by Ninaste. You can find this tube at Scraps and the City.

Scrap kit used:  “Lady in Black” by Tiny Turtle Designs. You can find this kit at Scraps and the City.

Mask used:  Mask 45 from Moonbeams and Spiderwebs

Plug In used: Xero: Radiance

Font used:  Honey Script


Open new image 500 x 500.

Open (56). Copy and paste onto canvas. Resize 70%.

Duplicate Frame.

Open tube. Copy and paste onto canvas, between the two frame layers.  Resize tube as needed.

Duplicate tube. On top tube layer, apply Xero: Radiance, settings: 50, 120, 130, 135.

On top tube layer, change the Blend mode to Overlay, and the opacity to 50%. Merge the tube layers together.

Save your progress.

Apply drop shadow to tube. 5, 5, 50, 8, black.

On top frame layer, erase the top half of the frame (the portion covering the top of the tube).

On the tube layer, erase the parts that stick out of the bottom of the frame.

Save your progress.

Open Paper(1). Copy and paste onto canvas, below the bottom frame layer.

Activate your bottom frame layer. Using your Magic Wand tool, click inside the frame.
Selections>Modify>Expand by 5. Activate your paper layer. Selections>Invert. Hit the Delete key.
Selections>None

Open Paper(38). Resize 70%. Copy and paste as bottom layer.

Apply Mask.
Right click on mask layer.  Merge>Merge Group

Save your progress.

Open (122). Resize 50%. Copy and paste at bottom right of frame.

Open (109). Resize 50%. Copy and paste behind your flower. Image>Free Rotate: 80 degrees left.
Duplicate Leaves. Free Rotate 140 degrees right.

Open (4). Resize 55%. Copy and paste below your flower layer.

Open (66). Resize 40%. Copy and paste at top left of frame.
Duplicate. Resize 75%. Free Rotate 45 degrees left. Arrange so it looks like mine. Merge the two together.

Open (130). Resize 70%. Copy and paste into the center of your “bow flower”.

Save your progress.

Add a drop shadow to each of your elements, including the bottom frame layer. 3, 3, 50, 5, black.

Save.

Add your name and credits, save and you’re done! 



New PTU Tut - Aquamarine Victoria



Tube used:  “Victoria” by Alexander McMillan. You can find this tube at Scraps and the City.

Scrap kit used:  “Aquamarine Butterfly” by AmyMarie. You can find this kit at Scraps and the City.

Mask used: WSL_Mask364, by WeeScotsLass

Plug-In used: Xero: Porcelain (FTU) 

Font used:  Cherish



Open new image 500 x 500.

Flood fill white.

Open Frame 2. Copy and paste onto canvas. Resize 75%.

Duplicate Frame.

Open tube. Copy and paste onto canvas, between the two frame layers.  Resize tube as needed.

Apply Xero:Porcelain, using default settings. (50, 128, 128, 0, 0, 255)

Apply drop shadow to tube. 5, 5, 50, 8, black.

On top frame layer, erase the portion covering the top of the tube.

On the tube layer, erase any portion that shows outside of the frame. I also used my magic wand tool to click 
inside each of the frames little “holes”, and then deleted any portion of the tube that showed in the “holes.”

Save your progress.

Open Paper 5, Copy and paste onto canvas, below the bottom frame layer.

Apply Mask.

Right click on mask layer.  Merge>Merge Group

Open Element 81. Copy and paste onto canvas, resize 85%, arrange at bottom of frame.

Duplicate, resize 85%, Image>Mirror.

Merge the two cloud layers together. Duplicate.

On the duplicate layer, Image>Flip. Move the flipped clouds behind your tube layer, behind her head.

Open Element22. Copy and paste onto canvas, resize 75%, move it above your paper layer.

Open Element76. Copy and paste onto canvas, resize  70%, move to bottom of frame.
Image>Free Rotate>10 degrees to the left.  Resize 90%.

Save your progress.

Open Element78. Copy and paste onto canvas. Free Rotate 80 degrees to the left. Resize 90%.
Arrange on left side of frame. Move below your other flower layer. Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen.

Open Element53. Copy and paste onto canvas. Resize 45%, Free Rotate 20 degrees to the left. Arrange on left side of frame. Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen.

Open Element55. Copy and paste onto canvas. Resize 80%. Free Rotate 80 degrees left. Arrange on the left side of the frame, behind the flowers.

Duplicate. Free Rotate 90 degrees to the right. Resize 80%. Arrange at bottom of frame,  behind flowers.

Save your progress.

Open Element5. Resize 60%. Arrange at bottom right of frame, behind the flowers and ribbon.

Open Element40. Resize 90%. Arrange at bottom of frame, just above your paper layer.

Open Element68. Arrange behind your tube, above your cloud layer.

Add a drop shadow to each of your elements, including the bottom frame layer. 3, 3, 50, 5, black. (I didn’t drop shadow the cloud layers or the grass layer.)

Save.

Delete white background layer.

Add your name and credits,  and you’re done!
